The Executive Council consists of 16 officers and the Editor of The Subpostmaster. Members of the council collectively act as the Federations ’Management Team’ and are responsible for running the organisation.  Members are elected every three years from each of the Regions on the basis of 1 per 1000 members of part there of. 

The council meets regularly and has collective responsibility for the management of the organisation.  The Executive Council is divided into Sub-Committees.  The principle ones being Negotiating Committee and the Publicity and Development Committee.  All decisions are made by (majority) vote and are binding on all Executive Officers.  Elections for places on the Executive Council take place every three years (the next election will be in May 2010).
