The NFSP has recognised that subpostmasters increasingly need to improve, wherever possible, their retail offering. With incomes derived from the Post Office counter either declining or becoming more difficult to generate, it is the retail business that is becoming a far higher priority.
The NFSP is working hard to make a host of differing commercial opportunities available to members. Every single opportunity is designed to generate additional profits and sales, reduce members’ general expenditure or simply give members peace of mind that important retailing services are being professionally looked after. New opportunities are added frequently, with emphasis being placed on anything that is new. Members will not substantially improve their businesses by simply saving a few coppers here and there but by adding new initiatives. Doing this they stand a real chance of making big step changes in their businesses - changes that will satisfy their customers as well as improving the bottom line.
